Vor 4 Jahren war die TVT (Tierärztliche Vereinigung für Tierschutz) bereits einmal Gast mit einer ganzen Serie an Folgen. Das wiederholen wir jetzt wieder und gehen dabei gleich durch verschiedene Arbeitskreise und Untergruppen. Wir fangen an mit dem Nutztier Schwein und wie es aus Sicht der TVT um dessen Tierschutz in Deutschland steht. Dr. Frederik Löwenstein ist Fachtierarzt für Schweine, leitet die Unterarbeitsgruppe Schwein des Arbeitskreises Nutztiere und setzt sich schon lange während und parallel zu seiner Arbeit für den Tierschutz ein. Wir sprechen über die aktuellen Zahlen gehaltener Tiere, die verschiedenen Haltungsformen und Aufzuchtphasen, die Abwendung von Ferkelschutzkörben/Kastenständen, das Kastrieren männlicher Ferkel und Schwänzekupieren, sowie der dazugehörigen rechtlichen Hintergründe und allem was sich seit 2020 geändert hat. Wer also einmal den jetzigen Status Quo zum Schweine-Tierschutz wissen möchte, sollte unbedingt reinhören.
