End On End

It was a real pleasure to talk about and to Las Mordidas this episode. A Dischord supergroup of sorts, featuring Dug E Bird (Beefeater/Fidelity Jones), Jerry Busher (Fidelity Jones/Fugazi), Jon K (Rain/Special K) and Chris Thomson (Ignition/Circus Lupus), these guys only lasted just over a year, but made an indelible mark on the DC scene. Check out the Ex-Voto 12" recently released on LG Records!

Can't believe we made it to episode 150! We're celebrating by paying our respects to Severin's swan song double 7' release with cohost with comost, Ken Smallwood. Later in the show, singer/guitarist Alec Bourgeois stops by to fill in the context for this elusive and powerful final release. Don't sleep on this one!

Power-pop mod meets hardcore in this beloved Dischord outlier of a release. It was a pleasure to lose myself in these candy coated hooks and non-stop propulsion. And don't get me started on the ridiculously well written lyrics. Adz joins me in the copilot seat once again and we speak with the band later in the episode. Strap in, this is a long ride!

Welcome to yet another EOE side-road episode! I promise to return to regular programming next episode, but I've been sitting on this great conversation for months and this seemed as good a time as any to share it. I had a blast talking with John Davis (QandNotU) author of the great new book on the history of DC fanzines, Keep Your Ear To The Ground. Hope you enjoy the talk as much as I did. Now go order the book!

Consider this a EOE Special Report! In our first non-music podcast, I sit down with author/podcaster/educator Matthew Remski (Anti-Fascist Dad) to talk fascism and how to fight it.
